The island offers great birding at anytime of the year. North American rarities regularly show up on the Avalon Peninsula throughout the year. Gulls are best seen during the winter, breeding colonies of seabirds in the summer are spectacular, Southern vagrants during the fall and unpredictable spring migration makes the island very enticing! For thorough information about birding NL through the seasons visit my blog under the NL tab (www.alvanbuckley.blogspot.com).
