You don't need to be an expert birder to contact a Pal. However these are serious birdwatchers who are willing to help. It is a privilege to contact them. Your message should reflect decent respect.
A Birding Pal does not charge a fee, however you should pay for their expenses, transportation costs, entrance fees, meals, etc.
Pals will answer your messages quickly, if they can. You might write to someone who is traveling, so write to more than one Pal, and be patient. Let us know if someone doesn't answer and we'll check that everything is okay.
Let us know when you are going to meet a Pal, and then let us know how it went.

When you contact a Birdingpal looking for advice and/or information, you should have some patience.
It is not always possible for a Birding Pal to respond right away. If you don't get a reply please write to us.
If you are listed at BirdingPal.org you do have a passphrase.
If you do not have a Contact Pals Incorporated
StevenWytema Of Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Nederland
Note Fortunately I made a living out of my hobby, and am giving courses and excursions on all levels (from garden birders to expecienced sound courses).
As an avid birder I know nearly whole of the Netherlands (although the local wardens know more of course), but most important of all: I've experienced all aspects of birding: migration counting, photography, leisure walking, ringing & banding, twitching and so on.
So I know what preferences the different birder has and thats what most important to me.
Area and hotspots Dutch coast, green heart, if desired whole Netherlands
Local birds all desired, also (inter)national rares, photography etc. Customer is king
We can't do it without you. We require the purchase of a passphrase for $10 for the year.
We are asking for your help with this, to keep Birdingpal going.
